Video Producer
(Audiovisual execution aligned with institutional strategy)
Contex
Since the 1990s, ANDICOM has established itself as one of Latin America’s most important ICT events, bringing together government leaders, global technology companies, and international delegations.
In 2007, the event aimed to strengthen its global positioning and, for the first time, leverage the internet for international outreach, live streaming, and long-term audiovisual assets.
Video became a strategic tool to:
_Attract international participants.
_Communicate academic and business prestige.
_Position Colombia and Cartagena as a modern, reliable host country.
Challenge
- Produce a premium invitation video for international audiences.
- Balance technological innovation with human and cultural storytelling.
- Convey the host city’s safety, modernity, and attractiveness.
- Deliver complex audiovisual production and streaming in a live event environment.
Any execution failure would have impacted the event’s international reputation.
Strategy
The audiovisual strategy followed CINTEL’s institutional guidelines and focused on:
- High-level messaging, including international government representation.
- A hybrid visual narrative combining:
- Technology trends.
- Business and networking environments.
- Cultural and geographic appeal of Cartagena.
- Designing video assets for multi-use across platforms and future events.
The focus was on elevating the event and the country—not the production itself.
Execution
- Production of the official ANDICOM 2007 promotional video.
- Coordination of multidisciplinary audiovisual teams.
- Filming interviews with key industry figures.
- Full event audiovisual coverage.
- Internet-based video conferencing and streaming (first-time implementation).
- Delivery of reusable audiovisual assets for press and future promotion.
Impact
- Strong national and international attendance.
- Enhanced prestige of ANDICOM within the ICT sector.
- Successful adoption of video and streaming as institutional communication tools.
- Creation of a long-term audiovisual content library.
